Alex Eala's Sao Paulo Open campaign ended at the hands of Indonesian Janice Tjen in the quarterfinals.
The Filiprima craze ended Saturday morning, Sept. 13 (Philippine time).
Filipina tennis sensation Alex Eala succumbed to Janice Tjen, 4-6, 1-6, in their Sao Paulo Open quarterfinal match in Brazil.
Eala actually raced to a 3-0 lead to start the match but lost steam as Tjen found her rhythm.

This was the first time the two squared off at the professional level after meeting thrice in the juniors from 2018 to 2019.
Eala held a 2-1 edge against her in that division.
Eala, who was embraced by local fans as one of their own, thus saw a halt to her hot seven-game streak since ruling the WTA 125 in Guadalajara.
