Pool H of the 2025 FIVB Men’s World Championship brings together traditional powerhouse Brazil, perennial European contender Serbia, hungry challenger Czechia, and resurgent China at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

This group will battle in a single round-robin for two tickets to the knockout stage in front of passionate Filipino fans.

Brazil enters as the clear favorite with its depth and championship pedigree, but Serbia’s experience and physicality make it a strong threat. Czechia, meanwhile, is eager to prove itself after returning to the World Championship stage, while China hopes to continue its steady climb back toward international relevance.

Here’s a closer look at the four teams in Pool H ahead of the group stage clashes.

Brazil

World Ranking: #3

Brazil remains one of the sport’s giants, boasting three World Championship titles in 2002, 2006, and 2010, along with a bronze medal finish in 2022.

With a mix of decorated veterans and explosive talents, the Seleção are again expected to contend for gold and are the heavy favorites to top Pool H.

Key players to watch:

Bruno Rezende – The legendary setter and long-time captain is still the heart of Brazil’s offense. His experience, leadership, and creativity make him vital to orchestrating their versatile attack.

Yoandy Leal – A high-powered outside hitter and one of the world’s most dangerous scorers. Leal was the top scorer of the 2022 Worlds and remains Brazil’s go-to weapon in crunch time.

Back at the World Championship for the first time since 2010, Czechia is determined to prove it belongs on the world stage. With young stars and recent success in Europe, including winning the 2022 European Golden League, the Czechs are eager to spring a surprise.
