After a hat-trick, Chandler McDaniel scored a whopping six goals for Stallion Laguna FC in their second win at the AFC Women’s Champions League preliminary stage.
Stallion Laguna FC marched ever closer to a spot in the group stage of the AFC Women’s Champions League after they trampled Strykers of Laos in a 13-nil victory. That was in Group A of the preliminary stage at the Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar on Thursday.
Chandler McDaniel, who scored a hat-trick in their opener against Khovd Western, found the back of the net a whopping six times to have the lion’s share of goals among six scorers. She and two others scored multiple goals against the Laos team that crashed out of contention.

Mia Bookhard opened the floodgates first for Stallion after she scored at the two-minute mark which pulled the Filipinas side ahead early. She also scored against the Mongolians in their earlier game.
McDaniel then began her onslaught at the 18th minute, before scoring again from a penalty just eight minutes after. Then, at the 37-minute mark, McDaniel completed the hat-trick and equalled her goal total in the last game in just the first half.
Rhea Chan and Malia Cerdon where the two other goal scorers in the first half, making it a six-nil game at halftime.
But McDaniel, Chan, and Cerdon got past the Strykers’ defense anew shortly after the break, with McDaniel scoring her fourth just shortly after the restart. Chan then netted her second goal of the match at the 52nd, completing a brace.
McDaniel scored again four minutes after and Cerdon quickly added to the total with her brace at the 57th minute.
The Filipinas striker then finished her tear with her sixth and final goal at the 64th minute.
Though McDaniel was already done with her own offense, Stallion continued on their mission with two more players scoring until the final whistle.
Jenna Merrill netted her own goal at the 69th minute before McDaniel’s fellow Filipinas teammate Charisa Lemoran at the 89th minute to arrive at the final score.
More than the offensive onslaught, Stallion were also able to finish with a clean slate thanks to their backline led by goalkeeper Olivia McDaniel.
With one match remaining on their schedule and a spot in the group stage on the line, Olivia is looking forward to seal their place in the next phase of the tournament.
“I think what the fans can expect from us in the last game is a really tough and gritty match but it’s gonna be a good one and I think it’s just gonna come down to who wants it more and hopefully that’s us at the end of the day,” she said.
Stallion faces hosts Myanmar’s ISPE in their final match of the preliminary stage on Sunday, August 31.
