Gilas Women and Tagaytay ‘Tol Patriots’ Stefanie Berberabe became just the third player in Philippine club basketball to record a quadruple-double.
Stefanie Berberabe quickly eased into her role with the Tagaytay ‘Tol Patriots at the Women’s Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League, even etching her name in the history books as the first Filipina to record a rare quadruple-double on Sunday.
In just her second game for the Patriots, Berberabe starred for Tagaytay, who are now on a win streak after previously losing their first four games.
Berberabe powered Tagaytay past the Solar Home Suns, 82-70, to kickstart their second round campaign with a bang, finishing with 20 points, 15 rebounds, 10 assists, and 10 steals — becoming just the third player to do so in Philippine club basketball.
She joins an exclusive list, including Donbel Belano back in 1999 when he was playing for the Davao Eagles in the Metropolitan Basketball Association, and Kyt Jimenez of the Sarangani Marlins in the 2022 season of the MPBL.
Berberabe had just come off of a campaign in the Australian NBL One, where she played with the Joondalup Wolves. She also tallied the WMPBL’s first-ever triple-double just last weekend, in another win.
Before turning professional, Berberabe played for the NU Lady Bulldogs in UAAP Season 86.
Prior to NU, she spent much of her collegiate career playing for Westmont University in the United States where she was a champion in the NAIA.
Berberabe likewise suits up for Gilas Pilipinas Women in five-on-five action.
She was a gold medalist in the 2022 Southeast Asian Games with Gilas, while she won silver with the squad in the 2023 SEA Games in Cambodia.
