Filipinas veteran Hali Long will spread her wings abroad as she sees action with Thailand team BGC-College of Asian Scholars in the preliminary stage of the upcoming 2025 AFC Women’s Champions League, being on loan from Kaya FC-Iloilo.

Long is the MVP of the PFF Women’s League, where she also helped Kaya win consecutive titles.

As captain of the national team, she recently scored a goal during the Filipinas’ bid in the MSIG Serenity Cup earlier this month. She also stands as the most-capped player in the national team program boasting over 90 appearances for the Filipinas.

A staunch defender, Long will hope to anchor CAS’ backline in the 2025 AFC Women’s Champions League, where a Filipino club in Stallion Laguna FC will also see action. However, the two teams will not meet in the preliminary stage owing to different groupings.

Long’s stint with BGC-CAS comes just a year after Kaya FC-Iloilo likewise played in the inaugural edition of the tournament in 2024.

Kaya snatched their first ever points in Champions League football when they drew against Iran’s bam Khatoon and, coincidentally, Thailand’s CAS.

Long’s CAS are grouped with hosts Nasaf of Uzbekistan, Nepal’s APF Women’s Football Club, and Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr.

CAS will need to win their group, or finish as the best runners-up among all five groups to advance to the group stage of the tournament.
