Kevin Quiambao turns attention to KBL season preps after Gilas stint

After his solid Gilas Pilipinas stint, Kevin Quiambao is ready to put in the work anew— this time with the Goyang Sono Skygunners .

The 24-year-old cager posted an Instagram Story showing him boarding a plane to South Korea, where he is expected to join the Skygunners’ preparations for the 2025-26 Korean Basketball League (KBL) season.

Though Gilas crashed out in the quarterfinals, Quiambao emerged as a bright spot for the squad after his solid showing.

Across five games, he logged 12.0 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.6 assists in under 20 minutes of playing time, ending the tournament with back-to-back 17-point games.

He finished as the team’s third-leading scorer, behind Justin Brownlee (20.6 PPG) and Dwight Ramos (16.8 PPG).

Quiambao is set to embark on his second season with Goyang, who missed the playoffs last season after finishing eighth with a 19-35 win-loss record.

Despite playing just 23 games, the former DLSU Green Archer averaged 16.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 3.9 assists in his KBL rookie season.

Earlier, Quiambao trained in the U.S. in an attempt to pursue his NBA dream, but unfortunately, it did'nt work out.
