Australia sweeps Group A of the FIBA Asia Cup in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to gain an outright quarters spot against the winner between Gilas and Saudi Arabia.
Australia needed two quarters to warm up before blasting Qatar, 110-82, in their FIBA Asia Cup 2025 clash Sunday, Aug. 10.
The Boomers thus topped Group A with an immaculate 3-0 record to gain an outright quarterfinal berth against the winner of the Gilas Pilipinas-Saudi Arabia qualification tussle.
Jaylin Galloway spearheaded the Australians' attack with 24 points on an impressive 8-for-10 shooting from the field, including 2-for-3 from the three-point line.

He also had three rebounds, two assists and two steals for the back-to-back Asia Cup champions.
William Hickey stuffed the stat sheet with 15 points, five rebounds, eight assists, a steal and a block, while Reyne Smith also put up 15 points.
Will Magnay added 14 points, four rebounds and two blocks for the Boomers, who held a slim 46-43 at the break.

After the nip-and-tuck first 20 minutes of action, Australia seemingly found renewed energy to outgun Qatar, 31-20, in the third period to set up the breakaway.
Australia was just as dominant in the fourth period, where the Boomers bested Qatar, 33-19.

Although misfiring from beyond the arc, Brandon Goodwin emerged as the best scorer for Qatar with 24 points he spiked with seven rebounds, five assists and three steals.
Tyler Harris had 15 points, Babacar Dieng scored 14, while Znieeddine Bedri and Alen Hadzibegovic contributed 13 points apiece for the Qataris, who wound up winless in group play.
