Asia’s no. 2 team Japan eyes a strong showing in the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
After captivating stretch that led to an appearance in the Olympic Games in Paris, Japan now looks to dominate Asia.
Veteran internationalist and Chiba Jets star Yuki Togashi once again leads the Akatsuki Japan in their campaign for the FIBA Asia Cup 2025, set to run from August 5 to 17 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Former Japan B.LEAGUE MVP and NBA player Yuki Kawamura, however, is not in the lineup. Also not on the roster is Yuta Watanabe, who led the team in scoring in the 2022 edition of the tournament.
The abundance in touches should allow to team to once again feature Keisei Tominaga, their ace shooter who had big games in the last FIBA Asia Cup and in the FIBA World Cup in 2023.
Ranked No. 2 in the FIBA Asia region behind Australia, Japan is eager to win its first medal of any color since 1997.
