Just a month after what he said was a big PBA team sending feelers to acquire him, Javi Gomez de Liaño opted to stay put with Korean Basketball League’s Anyang Jung Kwan Jang Red Boosters.
Javi Gomez de Liaño isn’t PBA-bound, after all.
Gomez de Liano took to social media to announce his re-signing with Anyang Jung Kwan Jang Red Boosters in the Korean Basketball League.
Gomez De Liano returned to the Red Boosters side he helped reach the quarterfinals of the KBL’s 2024-25 season.
“Let’s run it back Anyang JKJ!” he wrote as caption in an Instagram post.
This news a month after the former Terrafirma Dyip bared a “big market” team in the PBA expressed interest to acquire his services.
“At the same time talking to some coaches here in the league, I'm surprised like one of the big teams actually want to get me,” the 6-foot-5 cager said in a previous interview.
That is obviously didn’t pan out, as Gomez de Liaño sets its sights on helping Anyang make a deeper playoff run this time.
Before his arrival, another Filipino in Rhenz Abando steered the same team to the 2023 championship.
