Margielyn Didal gets another trophy As she continues to reassert herself in skateboarding after an injury-hit 2024.
Margielyn Didal continued her return from an injury-hit 2024 with a podium finish at the Street League Skateboarding Santa Monica this week.
Didal, who previously ruled a skateboarding tiff in Buenos Aires late last year in her comeback from injury, finished third in the women’s finals, making a triumphant return to SLS.
The Tokyo Olympian last participated in the tournament back in 2019.
Didal finished behind Chloe Covell and Aoi Uemura with her score of 10.9.
She was a ways behind Covell and Uemura who finished with 23.8 and 19.3 points, respectively.
Despite this, Didal was happy overall with how she performed.
“Last time, I skated [at] SLS was back in 2019, and now I’m back I got [bronze],” wrote Didal on social media.
“Hype on my first SLS trophy. Thanks for having me.”
Meanwhile, Skate Pilipinas congratulated Didal for her tenacity in recovering from her injury, which derailed not only her Asian Games title defense, but also her bid at the Olympic Games in Paris.
“Your journey from recovery to the podium inspires skaters worldwide,” said Skate Pilipinas.
