The Ryukyu Golden Kings, Utsunomiya Brex, and Alvark Tokyo will see action in the 2025-26 EASL season as B.LEAGUE representatives.
The B.LEAGUE part of the 2025-26 East Asia Super League season is set.
Following the conclusion of the semifinals in Japan, all three B.LEAGUE teams have been confirmed for the EASL’s third home-and-away season.
Leading the pack are the Ryukyu Golden Kings, who qualified by making the B.LEAGUE Finals and as the reigning Emperor’s Cup champions.
The EASL adding the Emperor’s Cup champion is among the new developments for the upcoming season, which upped the number of Japanese teams to three.
By virtue of the Golden Kings also making the B.LEAGUE Finals, the other slot went to Alvark Tokyo, the team that played Ryukyu in the Emperor’s Cup finale.
The Utsunomiya Brex complete the set, gaining EASL qualification by making the 2025 B.LEAGUE Finals opposite the Golden Kings.
Ryukyu has been a consistent part of the East Asia Super League since its founding, and the Golden Kings are set for their third-straight appearance since the EASL transitioned into a full home-and-away season.
Last season, the Golden Kings made the Final Four in Macau.
The Brex also have multiple appearances under their belt, but this upcoming season will be their first under the current EASL format. Utsunomiya last played in the Champions Week in 2023, which the team co-hosted.
Meanwhile, Alvark Tokyo will be making their first-ever appearance in the East Asia Super League.
Nevertheless, the franchise is no stranger to international club play, as Tokyo holds Japan’s lone win in the FIBA Asia Champions Cup (now Basketball Champions League Asia).
Tokyo is also a two-time B.LEAGUE champion, being the first and so far only team to repeat as B1 winners.
