Alex Eala moved up one spot in the WTA rankings released on Monday, now ranked world no. 69 after her stint at the Italian Open in Rome to mark a new best in her young tennis career.

Eala, who celebrates her 20th birthday later this week, improved after spending a couple of weeks at no. 70.

This development comes even after a quick exit in singles at the Italian Open, falling flat in her Round of 128 match against Marta Kostyuk. However, she made waves in doubles with first-time partner Coco Gauff.
