Two-time UAAP MVP Kevin Quiambao is officially in South Korea as he begins his KBL journey with the Goyang Sono Skugunners.
A day after JD Cagulangan joined the Suwon KT Sonicboom, Kevin Quiambao has also officially arrived in South Korea to join the Goyang Sono Skyguuners in the Korean Basketball League (KBL).
The addition of the two-time UAAP MVP should give the Skygunners a boost as they gear up for the second half of the season.
“Surreal feeling for me. It’s a new chapter for me. First professional career here in Korea in Sono Skygunners. I’m feeling excited and I can’t wait to meet all the fans, players, and management,” Quiambao said in a short video posted by the Skygunners.
The 23-year old forward also left a quick message that should leave Goyang Sono fans excited.
"Hi Sono Skygunner fans, see you soon. Thank you for the support and can't wait to work," said Quiambao.
The 6-foot-8 forward enters the KBL fresh off a stellar performance in the UAAP, where he was crowned back-to-back MVP with the DLSU Green Archers in Season 87.
Quiambao showcased his all-around game, averaging 16.6 points, 8.6 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and one block across 14 games. His leadership and ability to contribute on both ends of the floor make him a valuable asset to Goyang Sono.
