Justin Brownlee, Pelita Jaya keep semis hopes alive, stun three-time ISL champs Shahrdary Gorgan for first BCL Asia win

Justin Brownlee and Pelita Jaya would not be denied this time. 

Brownlee responded in the biggest way possible to help the Pelita Jaya to a bounce-back 97-90 stunner over Iranian powerhouse team Shahrdary Gorgan. The Indonesian squad keeps its semifinal hopes alive in the Basketball Champions League Asia (BCL Asia).

The Gilas Pilipinas mainstay registered 32 points, 12 rebounds, four assists, and two steals, a day after getting blown out in the BCL Asia debut against the B1 champions Hiroshima Dragonflies, to power his team to win number one in Group B.

 Brownlee already had 21 points and seven rebounds by the end of the first half as Pelita Jaya took a 50-43 lead into the intermission.

The victory was also the first win for an Indonesian club in Asia's flagship club competition since 2009 when it was called the Asia Champions Cup.

James Dickey led the way for Pelita Jaya with 40 points, 17 rebounds, five assists.

After trailing by a single point in the opening frame, JB ignited a 12-3 run, capping off with a triple to put his squad ahead by double digits at 36-26.
