In his first season with New Taipei, Jeremy Lin will have a chance to play for the championship.

Lin and the Kings advanced to the P.LEAGUE+ Finals Monday, taking a 97-88 win over the no. 2 seed Formosa Dreamers in Game 6 of their semis series, 97-88.

New Taipei won 4-2, and will meet no. 1 seed Taoyuan Pilots in the championship round. The Pilots won their own series against the Hsinchu Topius Lioneers, 4-2.

Jeremy Lin played 42 minutes and led the Kings with 33 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists.

Kenny Manigault and Austin Daye supplemented “Linsanity” with 14 points apiece.

For Formosa, former San Miguel champion import and Strong Group-bound Chris McCullough led the way with 22 points, nine rebounds, and three blocks.

A return trip to the P+ Finals for New Taipei also means another stint in the East Asia Super League.

Last season, the Kings, led by Jeremy’s younger brother Joseph Lin, lost in six games to the Taipei Fubon Braves, who completed a three-peat.

Fubon missed the playoffs this season and the P.LEAGUE+ will crown a new champion in their budding history.

In the previous EASL season, the Kings finished fourth, becoming the first team from Taiwan to reach the semifinals of the tournament.
