Former PBA top pick Roosevelt Adam stays with the Yamagata Wyverns for his third season in the Japan B.League.
Filipino-American Roosevelt Adams is returning to the Yamagata Wyverns for the 2024–25 Japan B.League Division 2 season.
The former top pick in the 2019 PBA Rookie Draft renewed his contract with the Wyverns, as announced on the team’s website last May 31.
“We are pleased to inform you that we have signed a contract with Roosevelt Adams for the 2024–25 SEASON,” stated the Wyverns.
Adams likewise expressed his excitement about rejoining the team, striving for a better performance in the upcoming season.
“I am happy to get the opportunity to put on a Wyverns jersey again. Let’s run it back,” Adams said in a brief statement.
Adams averaged 8.2 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists, and 0.6 steals in the regular season for Yamagata, appearing in 41 games and starting 26.
The Wyverns made it to the playoffs with a 31-29 record but were defeated by Kiefer Ravena and the Shiga Lakes in the semifinals. Adams started all seven playoff games for Yamagata and averaged 6.7 points and 5.4 rebounds.
