Reeling from a tough series-opening loss on Wednesday, the D’Navigators made a quick rebound and took down the PGJC-Navy Sea Lions, 25-23, 25-20, 15-25, 25-23, in Game Two of the 2024 Spikers’ Turf Open Conference battle for third at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum Friday.

D'Navigators may have pushed the series to a Game 3, but it would not matter since the final outcome depends on the title showdown between the Cignal HD Spikers and the Criss Cross King Crunchers later in the day.

If Cignal clinches the championship in Game Two, the Sea Lions will claim the bronze medal due to their superior point ratio. However, if Criss Cross manages to extend the series to a decisive third game, the D’Navigators will still have an opportunity to compete for a podium spot in Game Three.

Arvin Estomata led the charge for the D’Navigators with 20 points built on 17 attacks, two aces, and a block, while Ed Camposano pitched in an all-around effort of 16 points, 14 receptions, and six digs.

Deanne De Pedro and Jayvee Sumagaysay supplemented eight markers apiece in the winning cause, as Kim Dayadante generated the offense with 19 excellent sets.

On the other hand, Joeven Dela Vega poured a game-high 28 points, scattering 22 spikes, four denials, and two aces that went for naught.

No other Sea Lion breached double figures in scoring as Omar Lioc and Greg Dolor only managed nine and eight markers, respectively.
