The Filipina racer picked up her first podium of the 2024 F1 Academy season, finishing in P2 for Race 2 in Miami Monday (PHL).

In what was a relatively strong weekend for the McLaren driver, Bustamante qualified second for Race 2 and managed to hold position, fighting off Mercedes’ Doriane Pin.

Bianca finished behind Abbi Pulling, as the Alpine driver won her third consecutive race.

Bustamante’s P2 for Race 2 was a strong bounce back, after her Race 1 effort suffered a huge hit. Bianca stalled on the grid, essentially negating her P4 from qualifying.

She finished P9.

Despite her first podium, Bustamante actually dropped one spot in the F1 standings for fifth.

The top-3 of Pulling, Pin, and Maya Weug stayed the same, but Chloe Chambers, who gave Haas their first podium from Race 1, managed to take the fourth spot from Bustamante with 40 points to the Filipina’s 39.

The next round of the F1 Academy season will be in Barcelona in June.
