Justin Brownlee's Pelita Jaya score winning debut in FIBA's Basketball Champions League Asia Qualifiers

All smooth sailing so far for Justin Brownlee in his stint with Pelita Jaya Jakarta.

 

After a winning debut in the Indonesian Basketball League, Brownlee also has a winning start for his IBL club in FIBA’s Basketball Champions League Asia Qualifiers.

 Pelita Jaya used a strong second half to surge past Thailand’s Hi-Tech Basketball Club, scoring a 99-81 win to open Group B play over in Mongolia Wednesday.

Brownlee went for a nice all-around outing of 11 points, nine rebounds, and six assists, while four others scored in double figures for Pelita Jaya.

 

Muhammad Guntara and JaQuori McLaughlin led Jakarta with 20 points apiece.

 

The BCL Asia, formerly known as the FIBA Asia Champions Cup is making a comeback this year, featuring the continent’s top-8 clubs.

 

Two teams from the FIBA West Asia Super League, together with the B.League, KBL, CBA, and PBA champions will see action.

 

Another two teams from these BCL Asia Qualifiers will join the fold.
