Having a special someone is never a bad thing. For athletes, being in a relationship helps them stay motivated or inspired. Just ask basketball stars Ricci Rivero and Ray Parks Jr.

On Thursday, PBA veteran Japeth Aguilar and his wife, Cassandra Naidas-Aguilar, celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary. On Instagram, Mrs. Aguilar posted a sweet message for her "best role model" husband.

"Four years ago, I put on a $40 dress, ugly cried, and got married in the courthouse. It was exactly how I wanted to get married and you let me have that. Since then, I’ve been so grateful for the life we’ve built together," said Naidas-Aguilar.

She also expressed excitement for the upcoming birth of their daughter and thanked the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel star, who recently alluded to his retirement from Gilas Pilipinas, for being by her side through the years.

"(We have a) beautiful boy we’re blessed with and our baby girl on the way. There were a few ups and downs but I’m so appreciative of the husband that you are. Most especially through my fertility and pregnancy journey, you have been my rock," said Naidas-Aguilar.

As their fans call them, CaPeth lang.

Also on Thursday, volleyball star Marck Espejo celebrated a meaningful milestone with his girlfriend.

Espejo and beauty queen Klyza Castro had their first anniversary, and the five-time UAAP MVP showed his affection on Instagram.

"To my favorite girl! To my always matampuhin bebe! To the love of my life! Happy 1st anniversary, baby!" wrote Espejo, who plays for the Incheon Korean Air Jumbos in South Korea. "This is our first year together pero alam ko marami pang darating sa atin. Sobrang excited ako sa ating future because I can’t wait to make all of our dreams come true. I always got your back. Imy and ily."

Meanwhile, Bernadett Pepito, another volleyball star, celebrated her 21st birthday on Friday. And of course, the UST Growling Tigresses libero was greeted by her boyfriend, Troy Anthony Legaspi.

"Happy birthday my partner I love you so much," wrote Legaspi, a member of the national sambo team, on Instagram.

With all these love-struck messages, we're reminded of this phrase ancient philosophers liked to say: Ayiiiiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. femb
