Pacio beat Mansur Malachiev last Saturday.
Joshua Pacio didn’t seem satisfied with his performance in the aftermath of his unanimous decision win over Mansur Malachiev last Saturday.
While confident he would win the match even before the decision was announced, Pacio knew he could have done better.
“Honestly, I’m not impressed with my performance right now. I need to go to the gym again and work harder,” he said after the strawweight match at ONE Fight Night 15: Le vs Freymanov at the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
“I was not relaxed, I was concentrating on throwing the power shots because I saw the damage and I was eager to throw those power shots, so it really got in my head that I had to finish him,” he admitted.
Despite being dissatisfied, there’s no doubt in Pacio's mind that he earned the right to fight former conqueror Jarred Brooks again.
“I think so,” said Pacio, who lost to Brooks in December 2022 in the United States.
Should that happen, the Lions MMA bet said he’s ready.
“If they give me Jarred Brooks, I’ll grab it,” he said.
While he wants the Monkey God next, Pacio wouldn't mind fighting a top-tier fighter either.
“Like what I’ve said, if they give me Bokang [Masunyane] or someone else in the top five, I’ll still grab it.”
Regardless, Pacio looks ready to throw down against whoever ONE chooses to pit against him. And that is not the least bit surprising.
