One could tell how happy the celebrant was.
On Tuesday, Barangay Ginebra San Miguel superstar Scottie Thompson and his wife Jinkee Serrano threw a special gathering among family and friends to welcome their son Scot Alystair to the Christian world. Of course, luminaries from the Philippine sports community were present on the occasion, including volleyball superstar Rachel Anne Daquis. The Cignal HD Spikers ace wasn’t just an ordinary guest, though, as she was named godmother to Baby Aster.

The celebration wasn’t all about the christening of Scottie’s mini-me. A day before the 2021 PBA MVP’s birthday, Jinkee decided to dedicate the event to his husband as well.

Also joining the party were Gilas Pilipinas members such as Kiefer Ravena, Jamie Malonzo, and Cjay Perez.

Injured hand and all, one could still see how elated the seven-time PBA champion was with all the love and support that he and his fam received during that day. It even led Scottie into having an extra sweet moment with his wife.

Thompson was undeniably enjoying one of the best moments in his life, as he should. But eventually, he’s going to have to get back to the grind. The FIBA World Cup is fast approaching, and Gilas needs him to be ready. The first order of business is to get more clarity on the extent of his hand injury. The hope for the Philippine contingent is that Scottie will heal just in time for the most crucial stages of its preparations for the global hoops summit.
