Desperation, key mindset fuel Jayson Tatum's unconscious Game 4 performance

Desperation, key mindset fuel Jayson Tatum
Boston Celtics

The statistics show that the Boston Celtics season is already doomed. No NBA team has recovered from a 3-0 hole. That doesn't mean that the Boston Celtics will give the series-clinching game on a silver platter.

Jayson Tatum made sure that the Cs will put up a fight, and they did in Game 4 to extend the series after a 116-99 win.

The Celtics superstar scored 33 points with 11 rebounds and 7 assists.

The key, Tatum said, was not thinking far ahead.

"We weren’t thinking winning four in a row tonight. We’re just trying to save our season with a win tonight."

Tatum orchestrated the fightback in the second half, scoring and assisting in 40 of Boston's 66 second half points.

"I think we’ve been generating good shots. It’s a make or miss league, sometimes it just don’t go in. But tonight we played with pace, purpose, we’re getting stops."

The series, now 3-1 in favor of the Miami Heat, shifts back to Boston on Friday. Can Boston complete a historic comeback? The Celtics are not thinking about that just yet, but they remain alive to play another game.
