Talk about a friendly face.

Creamline Cool Smashers' Risa Sato welcomes her teammates and the rest of the Philippine women's national volleyball team to Japan, as they train for the Southeast Asian Games happening in Cambodia later this May.

"Umuwi ng Japan para i-welcome kami," fellow Creamline Cool Smasher Ced Domingo joked on her Instagram story as she posed for a photo with the bubbly Filipino-Japanese player.

And they certainly know their prioritieslike stopping over for delicious snacks in convenience stores, as shared by Michele Gumabao.

It's Japan. They got the best snacks.

The Japan training is a reunion of the Creamline Cool Smashers, fresh off winning the 2023 PVL All-Filipino Conference, with Gumabao, Domingo, Alyssa Valdez, Jia De Guzman, Jema Galanza, Tots Carlos, and Kyla Atienza.

It's also a reunion of Queen Falcons from the Adamson University with Galanza, Chery Tiggo Crossovers' Mylene Paat, and Akari Chargers' Bang Pineda.

The Akari floor defender, who recently stepped up to the plate after All-Filipino Conference Best Libero Kath Arado withdrew due to injuries, also shared the bonding time with her fellow Chargers in the national teamled by coach Jorge Edson Souza de Brito.

The squad touched down in Himeji City on Friday morning and will stay there until April 28 to engage in friendly matches with Japan V.League team Victorina Himeji.
