Hindi pahuhuli ang Azkals.

The Philippine men's football team on Friday launched their 2023 kits, which feature distinctive feather designs. These were released by Azkals Sportswear and JerseyBird Official.

The kits show off feathers in the Philippine flag colors and take cue from the national bird, the Philippine Eagle.

Purple, pink, and green serve as the secondary colors in a black background, which the Azkals said serves to evoke mythical birds of legendthe Ibong Adarna and the Sarimanok.

The vibrant look also evokes the country's festivals such as the Sinulog of Cebu.

They debuted these kits in the West Asia training camp, as the Neil Etheridge-helmed squad fell to Kuwait's Al-Azraq in a friendly match. The two teams were scoreless at the half, but the Kuwaiti side found extra energy at the 72nd and 84th minute.

The Azkals get to show off their new kits again when they take on Jordan in Qatar next week.

The Philippines will be aiming to improve its ranking, at 134th, in their bid to participate in the 2024 AFF Championship, the 2027 Asian Cup, and even the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Earlier this year, the Philippine women's national football team also got a brand new kit thanks to global apparel brand adidas.
