Gilas Pilipinas endured an early Jericho Cruz onslaught before cruising to a 87-46 win over Guam in the FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers at the Yigo Village, Calvo Field House Friday, Nov. 28.
After Cruz almost single-handedly carried Guam with his 13 points in the opening frame, the Nationals slowly gained steam before establishing a 40-29 buffer at the break.
They then stepped on the gas in the third period to comfortably secure the “must-win” match.

Wary of his squad's homecourt disadvantage, Gilas coach Tim Cone can now let out a sigh of relief as the team heads home with a W in the standings.
