Meralco Bolts consultant Norman Black is set to return to coaching as he takes over the reins of Gilas Pilipinas for the 2025 Southeast Asian Games.
Norman Black is making a coaching comeback.
The Meralco consultant is reportedly taking the reins from Tim Cone for the Gilas team competing in the Southeast Asian Games in December.
With the league expected to be in the middle of the Philippine Cup of its 50th season by then, the PBA is only allowing some players to join the Gilas squad.

What is certain is that naturalized Filipinos Justin Brownlee and Ange Kouame are reinforcing the Nationals in the regional games in Bangkok, Thailand.
Black was replaced by Luigi Trillo as the Bolts' chief tactician in 2023 after nine years of holding the position and leading the team to a few Finals appearances.
He has served as coaching consultant since then.

As head coach of San Miguel prior, Black won nine titles, including a Grand Slam in 1989.
He also handled a collegiate program with Ateneo in the UAAP, where he helped the team secure five straight UAAP championships from 2008 to 2012.
