Kevin Quiambao has rejoined Gilas Pilipinas practice after a U. training camp aimed, bolstering the national team ahead of the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup.
Kevin Quiambao is back in the Gilas Pilipinas fold.
After a month-long training stint in the United States to chase his NBA dream, the former UAAP MVP rejoined the national team’s practice at The Upper Deck in Pasig City on Monday, July 21, ahead of the upcoming 2025 FIBA Asia Cup.
Quiambao had spent July training in Sacramento, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Las Vegas. Though he ultimately fell short of landing a spot in the NBA Summer League, the 6-foot-5 forward was part of a private scrimmage organized by Excel Sports Management, which featured scouts and front office personnel from various NBA teams.

Now back in top shape, Quiambao immediately got back to work with Gilas as they continue their buildup for the continental tilt scheduled for August 5-17 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Cone, who previously called Quiambao one of Gilas’ future cornerstones, will benefit from the 23-year-old’s return. Quiambao posted solid averages of 8.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 1.8 assists during the Asia Cup Qualifiers.
Also present in the latest Gilas session were Justin Brownlee, Dwight Ramos, Carl Tamayo, AJ Edu, Scottie Thompson, Japeth Aguilar, Troy Rosario, RJ Abarrientos, Chris Newsome, and Jamie Malonzo.
June Mar Fajardo, CJ Perez, and Calvin Oftana are expected to join practices after the conclusion of the PBA Philippine Cup Finals, where San Miguel currently leads TNT, 3-1.
