The Gilas Pilipinas Women face powerhouses back-to-back to begin their campaign in Shenzhen, China for the 2025 FIBA Women’s Asia Cup.
The Gilas Pilipinas Women will have their hands full in the first two games at the upcoming 2025 FIBA Women’s Asia Cup, as they battle powerhouses Australia and Japan in Group B action beginning next week at Shenzhen, China.
Gilas, who are coming off of a campaign at the William Jones Cup, will be the underdogs as they aim to stay in Division A and hopefully get a slot to the qualifying tournament of the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup in Germany.
With a young core that will be sprinkled with veteran experience from the likes of Jack Animam and Vanessa de Jesus, Gilas will try to pull off some surprises against higher-ranked teams and make the most of their trip to China.
