Before they tackled the first window of the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers, Gilas Pilipinas stars Kevin Quiambao, Carl Tamayo, and Scottie Thompson tested their mettle against Cong’s Anbilibabol Basketbol team.
In an unlikely collaboration, KQ, Carl, and Scottie decided to meet up and go on a basketball match against YouTuber and vlogger Cong TV.
In his vlog, Cong shared that it was his debut game as an “official coach” of Cong’s Anbilibabol Basketbol team.
Cong recently recruited one-time NBA champion Dwight Howard. But after playing in the 33rd Dubai International Basketball Tournament, Dwight ‘took home’ Cong’s payment and went home to the USA without his notice.
Thankfully, Cong found another powerful recruit, their ‘hugot’ in none other than UAAP Season 86 MVP Kevin Quiambao.
Cong’s Anbilabol Basketball faced CABS, where they went on a hoops showdown against Carl Tamayo and Scottie Thompson.
They also invited PBA commentator Magoo Marjon to join in on the fun.
KQ, Carl, and Scottie showcased their basketball skills and monstrous jams.
But even with their combined powers, Carl and Scottie remained no match against the Cong’s Anbilabol Basketbol.
Cong won his first debut game as a coach with a rousing 117-114 decision.
“Thank you boss @thecongtv sa pagbisita sa @thehustlefitness_ 🙌🏼 Sobrang hirap kalabanin pag si coach cong nagcocoach. Sure win palagi!😄”, Scottie commented as he warmly accepted his ‘defeat’.
