Justin Brownlee is back and we can't wait to see him in a Gilas Pilipinas jersey again.

The naturalized Filipino arrived in Manila on Tuesday morning ahead of the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 Qualifiers, as reported by News5's Martie Bautista.

Newly-appointed Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) executive director Erika Dy had confirmed last Sunday that Brownlee can officially play starting February 9.

Over the weekend, the SBP confirmed that Brownlee will be cleared to play for Gilas Pilipinas for the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 Qualifiers, starting February 22 and 25.

FIBA handed down a proposed three month period of ineligibility after Brownlee tested positive for carboxy-THC, a prohibited substance linked to cannabis, during the 19th Asian Games. Brownlee has not played since October 2023.

Brownlee will be joining his Barangay Ginebra San Miguel teammates Scottie Thompson and Jamie Malonzo in the squad led by head coach Tim Cone and team manager Richard Del Rosario.

Chris Newsome, Calvin Oftana, CJ Perez, June Mar Fajardo, Dwight Ramos, AJ Edu, Carl Tamayo, Kai Sotto, and Kevin Quiambao complete the list of 12.

Gilas will face Hong Kong on February 22 at the Tsuen Wan Stadium and Chinese Taipei on February 25 at the PhilSports Arena. Tickets for the home game are already available via smtickets.com.
