Gilas fans will have an answer on this debate soon.
Jordan Clarkson or Justin Brownlee for the FIBA World Cup?
“Ange Kouame kasi.”
That’s what the former Ateneo Blue Eagles big man jokingly had to say when asked about who he’s picking for the tournament.
Kouame, though, got serious and said that both players will be beneficial for Gilas Pilipinas come the FIBA World Cup.
“I think both of them can suit pretty well in the national team especially on the scoreboard and everything,” Kouame told One Sports. “I think both of them can actually do a great job whether you choose JB or JC.”
It’s been a long debate for many Gilas fans on whether Chot Reyes should choose the Clarkson or Brownlee.
The same question has been asked to several other players and even former Gilas coach Rajko Toroman.
For his part, Reyes bared some factors in deciding whether it would the Utah Jazz star or the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel mainstay that would be joining the national team.
It’s definitely a hard decision to make, but PBA chairman and TNT executive Ricky Vargas has even floated that maybe the two can play at the same time.
Of course, while that’s a long shot, many Gilas fans can dream of a scenario where both JB and JC are playing for the national team in the FIBA World Cup.
With the FIBA World Cup just a few months away, the clock is ticking on Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas and Reyes to make the important decision.
