Is this one of the tactics of the host team?
Gilas Pilipinas has yet to play even a single second in the 32nd SEA Games but the road to reclaiming gold has been full of wrinkles so far, quite literally in one aspect.
The national team couldn't practice in peace last night due to uneven flooring in one of Cambodia's practice facilities.
"As you can see it's just like flooring that's been put over wooden surface and there are a lot of wrinkles," coach Chot Reyes said in a chance interview.
Because of the dangerous floor situation, Gilas had to adjust.
"That's why we didn't do any up-and-downs, we just did pure shooting today. Now we're going to another venue, another practice facility, to put in a full practice because we're worried about practicing in this venue."
From issues with naturalized players, to practice facilities woes, there seems to be no shortage in challenges for Gilas Pilipinas. Coach Chot however, assured they will head into battle with the mindset to win it all.
The Redeem Team's journey will officially start later at 2 PM, against Malaysia.
