Nigma Galaxy has been hailed the grand champions of the SIBOL National Selection tilt, which serves as a qualifier for the League of Legends Wild Rift national squad for the 2023 Southeast Asian Games.

The winning team, also known as NGX, is composed of Chammy Paul “Chammy” Nazarrea, Jon Henrick “Power” Barbadillo, Sean “Hide” Baguino, Justine Ritchie “Juschie” Tan, Aaron Mark “Aaron” Bingay, Golden Hart “DemonKite” Dajao, and Reniel “Dr4w” Angara.

NGX nearly had a perfect run in the tourney as they swept NAOS in the semifinals before winning the grand finals against 300, 2 games to 1.

With the victory, NGX coach Gerald Gianne “Tgee” Gelacio has earned the rights to be coach of the Philippine national team, Team Sibol Wild Rift. They will rep the flag in the 2023 SEA Games, which will be held in Cambodia from May 5 to 17.

It’s worth noting, however, that the win doesn’t necessarily mean that the entire NGX roster will be included in the national team.

The top teams during the qualifiers, NGX and 300, will now go into the last phase of the national team auditions called the 'SIBOL Combine'a private tryout in which they select the best of the best among the two teams.

It has been a good week for NGX so far, who also recently qualified for Wild Rift League Asia after securing their spot in the Philippine qualifier.
