Reigning Mid Season Cup champions Team Liquid Philippines and Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno were among big winners for Philippine esports at the GamingonPhone Awards 2025 held at the Radisson Blue Plaza Hotel in Bangkok last weekend.

Team Liquid, who became the first team in history to win every major MLBB title, was the no-brainer choice for Mobile Esports Team of the Year after completing their trophy cabinet earlier this year at the Esports World Cup.

TLPH’s lineup consists of Nepomuceno, Alston “Sanji” Pabico, Jay Pee “Jaypee” Gonzales Dela Cruz, John “Perkziva” Haven Garcia Sumawan, Kiel “Oheb” Calvin Que Soriano, and Sanford “Sanford” Marin Vinuya.

“We are deeply honored to receive this award. It's been an incredible year for us. From becoming the MPL Season 15 Champions to winning the MSC trophy, none of this would've been possible without everyone behind us,” said Mitch Liwanag, Country Manager of Team Liquid Philippines.

Star of the Night

Meanwhile, Nepomuceno was the darling of the night — taking the Mobile Esports Player of the Year citation.

Nepomuceno was able to complete his personal “career grand slam” thanks to TLPH’s MSC win.

His career highlights include victories both at the M Series and the MSC along with four MPL Philippines championships, cementing his legacy as one of the best MLBB players full stop.

"This is such a huge honor for me, and I'm truly grateful to everyone who has supported my journey—from my teammates, coaches, and organisation, to all the fans who are always there through every win and loss,” said Nepomuceno.

“Thank you so much, everyone! I'll keep doing my best to make you all even prouder in the future!"

Now, Nepomuceno and TLPH set their sights on the playoffs of the MPL Philippines Season 16 where they target a title defense and a spot in M7 which will take place in Jakarta, Indonesia on January 2026 to make way for the Southeast Asian Games this December.

Other awardees in Bangkok include MOONTON Games, which was named Mobile Game Developer of the Year. Mobile Legends: Bang Bang was also named Mobile Esports Game of the Year.
