It was a podium finish but not a ticket to the World Championship, as the SIBOL Women’s MLBB team wrapped up their journey at the 2025 IESF Southeast Asia Qualifiers.
So close, yet so far.
Despite a podium finish, the SIBOL women’s MLBB team fell short of securing a spot in the World Championship as they ended their campaign at the 2025 IESF Southeast Asia Qualifiers.
SIBOL fell to Cambodia in semifinals, but bounced back and fended off Thailand in the bronze medal.
However, it wasn’t enough as eventual champion Malaysia and runners-up Cambodia are the ones who will compete in the IESF by virtue of being the top two best-finishing countries in the qualifying event.
Earlier, Team Philippines secured a 3-0 sweep of the group stage after victories against the Thais, Burmese, and Vietnamese counterparts.
