MPL Philippines: M5 champion AP.Bren stay perfect through week 2

It’s only the second week of MPL Philippines Season 13, but the action remains fast and furious in the Land of Dawn, keeping MPL fans on the edge of their seats. 

 

Each team made valiant efforts to win every point, especially with the introduction of a new pointing system and the gauntlet format for the playoffs. 

 

Let’s take a look back at how your favorite teams rallied to the top in week 2 of MPL Philippines Season 13.

 

 

Day 1: ONIC PH sweeps, and Echo grabs third win

 ONIC Philippines secured their first back-to-back wins of the season via sweep, Smart Omega at the Shooting Gallery Studios in Makati City on Friday.

ONIC delivered a flawless performance as each player recorded zero deaths against Omega in the opening game. 

 

In game two, Omega pulled a five-man substitution starring John Paul “H2wo” Salonga, CJ “Ribo” Ribo Jr., Dexter “Exort” Martrinez, Nowee “Ryota” Macasa, and Jomari “Jown” Pingol, but ONIC came prepared. 

 

In the other game, Echo got sweet revenge via a 2-1 win against RSG, takinga win back after falling at the hands of the Raiders during the MPL Invitational 2023 in Indonesia last November.

 

 

Day 2: TNC first win, ONIC and AP.Bren get sweeps

 In game 1, Blacklist International wiped out TNC and pushed the middle lane until the Phoenix’s base was open for the Codebreakers to secure the first win of the match. 

Exp Laner Edward Jay “Edward” Dapadap carried out a commendable zoning performance with Cici and delivered 02-03-03 KDA. 

 

Bouncing back, TNC Gold Laner Cesar “Nomed” Sugarno recorded back-to-back MVPs with exceptional Karrie gameplay. 

 

The Phoenix Army decoded Blacklist International despite signature pick Estes in game 3 with a high-damage and pick-off-oriented draft. 

 

Meanwhile, ONIC scored its third consecutive win in the Season 13 after a convincing 2-0 sweep against the Minana Evos. 

 

Fighters were making an appearance in the gold lane recently, and ONIC pulled off Duane “Kelra” Pillas’ Freya draft with an impressive 4-1-3 KDA. 

 

ONIC showed control in game 2, slimming Minana’s draft options by banning out five heroes of Roamer Brain “SpiderMilez” Santos.

 

Jungler King “K1NGKONG” Perez’s Guinivere earned the MVP badge with a 0-2-6 KDA.

 

Finally, M5 and Games of the Future champions AP.Bren sent RSG Philippines to a third consecutive loss via a clean sweep. 

 

Bren asserted supremacy as Kyle “KyleTzy” Sayson’s Barats secured objectives that propelled The Hive to an impressive opening win against RSG PH. 

 

In the second showdown at the Land of Dawn, Exp laner David “FlapTzy” Canon’s elusive Cici clinched the MVP with a 1-0-6 KDA. 

 

 

Day 3: Sweep day for Echo, Blacklist, and AP.Bren

 M4 Champions ECHO stay in the second spot of the standings after securing their fourth win via a clean sweep against the TNC Pro Team.

Meanwhile, The Hive concluded week two at the top with a perfect 4-0 record and a clean 8-0 game tally.

 

Blacklist International bounced back from an upset loss against TNC and executed a thrilling sweep against Smart Omega. 

 

Agent Zero Edward Jay “Edward” Dapadap delivered an exceptional performance at the EXP lane and clinched back-to-back MVP citations with his signature heroes Paquito and Benedetta. 

 

The regular season of MPL Philippines Season 13 will return in action on April 5, after the Holy Week break.
