ECHO and star roamer Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera have officially decided to part ways.

The decision was first made official in a tribute video posted by ECHO on their social media pages.

There, Yawi thanked his coaches Archie “Tictac” Reyes, Robert “Trebor” Sanchez, and ECHO Country Manager Mitch Liwanag for giving him the confidence to excel and become a champion.

“Sobrang excited ako sa next opportunity sakin. At for sure, dadalhin ko lahat ng mga natutunan ko sa ECHO kaya wag kayong malulungkot, guys. Maraming salamat ulit sa mga fans na walang sawang sumusuporta,” said Cabrera.

“Kung saan man ako dalhin ng tadhana, sana patuloy niyo pa rin akong suportahan at ang Echo. This is not a goodbye but see you later,” he added.

Yawi would also post a separate goodbye message on his Instagram account, again thanking the entire ECHO team and staff.

“Thank you so much sa tiwala niyo sakin simula umpisa. Thank you sa lahat ng kulitan and bonding natin. I’m so grateful na nakasama ko kayo ng ilang taon at lalong lalo na sa achievements na nakamit natin,” said Cabrera.

“Dadalhin ko lahat ng challenges and lessons I’ve experienced and learned with you all during those times. Walang goodbye guys, see you later lang.”

In late 2021, ECHO acquired Yawi from Nexplay EVOS, forming a super team that would ultimately succeed despite initial struggles.

Yawi's risky but impactful plays played a crucial role in ECHO's ascent to becoming a world champion, most evident during their M4 World Championship run last year.

Yawi also played a pivotal role in ECHO's quest for the elusive Mobile Legends Professional League (MPL) Philippines title, contributing significantly to their Season 11 championship.

However, during MPL Season 12, Yawi's playing time was noticeably reduced, even leading to him sitting out MSC 2023 where ECHO finished third.

Currently, Yawi is yet to announce where he plans to play next in the upcoming MPL season.
