The TNT Tropang Giga and Barangay Ginebra San Miguel rivalry has continued outside the hardwood and onto esports.

The two teams headlined the championship match of the inaugural Mobile Legends: Bang Bang tournament of the PBA Esports Bakbakan, held at the Circuit Makati Event Hall on Monday night.

And like the PBA Finals, TNT emerged victorious once more, following a 3-0 sweep over the Setsuna "Akosi Dogie" Ignacio-led Ginebra squad.

After placing fourth after the regular season, TNT found a way to advance to the finals after defeating the NorthPort Batang Pier, 2-1, in the semifinals. Meanwhile, Ginebra, who finished with a 10-1 record in the regular season, dominated the Phoenix Super LPG in the semis for a 2-0 sweep.

The matches between Ginebra and TNT were fairly close, but it was the Tropang Giga that prevailed when it mattered the most.

Aaren "TNT.Sindel" Palermo, who played the gold laner role, was named MVP. He though quickly deflected credit to this teammates.

"Kung hindi dahil sa kanila [teammates], hindi namin ito makukuha at hindi ako magiging MVP," Palermo said after the match.

Palermo and his teammates, Jason "TNT.KingJastro" Robante, Nathanael "TNT.Emperorzxc" Teodoro, Reginald "TNT.Regi" Agustin, and Bryan "TNT.4na4na" Bolla, also received a cash prize of P750,000 for their victory in the inaugural tournament.
