Amornthep Konhan will be a key figure in Alas Pilipinas' final battle in the Invitationals when they take on the Thailand Men's National Volleyball Team.
Thailand star Amornthep Konhan is determined to spoil Alas Pilipinas’ flawless campaign in the Alas Pilipinas Invitationals as the Southeast Asian powerhouse faces the host nation in a much-anticipated clash at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao on Thursday, June 12.
Konhan, who has been a steady force for the Thais, once again took charge in their latest outing, dropping 16 points built on 15 attacks and an ace in a clean sweep over two-time Indonesian Proliga champion Jakarta Bhayangkara Presisi.
That performance followed his 19-point showing in Thailand’s four-set win over Hyundai Capital Skywalkers of South Korea on opening day.
“Today, we tried to do our best, fix the problem from yesterday. We still have many problems in our team, so we will do better tomorrow,” Konhan told reporters.
“We will do our best, we will play with confidence, and we hope to win the game tomorrow.”
Konhan is no stranger to facing the Philippines, having been part of the Thai squad since 2018. The lefty opposite hitter was even part of the Thai nationals that faced the Philippine team that bagged silver in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games.
