MVP Group of Companies Chairman Manny V. Pangilinan and the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) and PNVF President Ramon “Tats” Suzara led a partnership signing on Monday.
The MVP Group has signed a partnership with the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) as the country hosts the FIVB Men’s Volleyball World Championship in September this year, just two years after the FIBA World Cup.

Led by sports patron Manny V. Pangilinan, the MVP Group will play a pivotal role in producing a fan-centered experience for over 30 countries to be represented in the high-level volleyball competition which will also feature our very own Alas Pilipinas men’s national team.

During the announcement press conference of the partnership on Monday, Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) and PNVF President Ramon “Tats” Suzara spoke highly about the partnership, especially since Pangilinan is one of the most successful business man in Asia.

“It’s such an important collaboration not only represents the development of volleyball in the Philippines, but also for the promotion of sports as a synergizing force in our nation. We have earlier received the support of the government, through administrative order no. 30 and today, at this very moment, we are ready to receive the support of the chairman of chairmans, MVP,” said Suzara.

“The MVP group who has been supporting us in our four national teams since last year, thank you boss, comprising industry leaders such as PLDT, Smart, Meralco, Metro Pacific Investments, MWell, and Cignal TV, among many others will bring unparalleled expertise and resources that will undoubtedly elevate the stature of the World Championship.” he added.

Known as a staunch supporter of sports across the board, Pangilinan spoke about the potential of making the Philippines as a premier destination for sports events.

“It is an honor for the Philippines to host that, in promoting the Philippines as a sports destination especially a tourist destination as well in collaborating to raise the sports excellence in this country and of course, national pride.” he said.

“So we wish the federation well in the hosting duties and we want to reaffirm our support for the event and for the federation.”

The premier competition is set to bring the best of the best of men’s volleyball to the country — which follows recent years that saw the Volleyball Nations League (VNL) hold its matches in Manila.

Earlier this month, the Philippines also played host to the AVC Champions League where local clubs like the Petro Gazz Angels, Creamline Cool Smashers, and the PLDT High Speed Hitters competed against the best of the best in the region.

With preparations in full swing, the PNVF is lining up a bevy of promotional events including the Trophy Tour, International Road Show, Mascot Contest and Launch, among others across the country and the world.
