Charge to experience for Alas Pilipinas as the national team were swept by Japan's SAGA Hisamitsu Springs in two games at the Alas Pilipinas Invitationals.
It was a better showing this time, and Alas Pilipinas will ultimately take more from their showdown with a premier Japan club other than just wins and losses.
Still, Alas Women absorbed another straight-set beating from the SAGA Hisamitsu Springs, this time a 14-25, 21-25, 19-25 loss in the Alas Pilipinas Invitationals Sunday at the PhilSports Arena.
The result mirrored the first game Saturday, albeit the Philippine team managed to crack 20+ points this time against the eight-time Japan champions.
Mika Yoshitake led the way from the Springs, firing 16 points on 14 attacks, one block, and an ace.
Meanwhile, Alyssa Solomon was the best scorer for Alas Pilipinas with seven points, followed by Fifi Sharma with six and Sisi Rondina with five markers.
