Reeling from a tough straight-set loss to host country Thailand less than a day ago, Alas Pilipinas U-18 made a quick rebound on Tuesday afternoon, June 11.

The Philippines regained its winning form after taking down Australia, 25-16, 25-23, 21-25, 25-19, in the 22nd Princess Cup Women's U18 SEA Volleyball Championship at the Nakhon Pathom Gym in Thailand.

Alas Pilipinas dictated the tempo in the first and second frames before the Australians seized control in the third set to prevent a sweep.

However, the Filipinas restored order in the decisive fourth frame, leaning on Kimberly Rubin, Lianne Penuliar, and Harlyn Serneche to seal the deal.

With the crucial victory, Alas Pilipinas keep their title drive strong with a 3-1 record, tied with Indonesia for second to third place.

The Philippines aims to wrap up its preliminary-round campaign with a win against Indonesia tomorrow at 12:30 p.m. to secure a trip to the championship round.
