Sheena Toring came alive for the NU Lady Bulldogs during their crucial Final Four win against the FEU Lady Tamaraws in the UAAP Season 86 women's volleyball tournament on Wednesday, May 8.
National University got help in a big way during its clinical straight-sets victory over Far Eastern University in the Final Four of the UAAP Season 86 women's volleyball tournament on Wednesday, May 8.
While Bella Belen had her usual all-around outing, it was Sheen Toring, who stepped up for the Lady Bulldogs as the second star, coming up huge in their knockout win over the Lady Tamaraws.
Celebrating her birthday, Toring turned in 13 points on five attacks, six blocks, and two service aces.
"I'm happy naman kasi gusto ko talaga bumawi. Since nung last game, pangit ng performance namin. Last game, ginawa ko talagang motivation 'yun," Toring said during the post-game press conference.
"Hindi ako papayag na basta-basta lang kaming matatalo," she added.
The 23-year-old middle blocker has had an up-and-down Season 86 so far, but she hopes to turn it all around come the Finals and help NU secure its second title in three seasons.
"Actually before, nung elimination, nakikita ko na wala 'yung laro ko, wala 'yung performance ko, parang hindi ako. Ginawa ko talagang motivation na kailangan kong bumalik kasi kailangan ako ng team," said Toring.
"I'm thankful na andun 'yung mga teammates ko at coaches na nag-support talaga sakin. Finally, umabot naman ng championship. Eto na gawin na namin lahat," she added.
NU will face the University of Santo Tomas in the Finals which will begin on Saturday, May 11 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao at 4:00 p.m.
