After five years, three championships, and two silver medals, the five-time Spikers’ Turf MVP Marck Espejo parted ways with the Cignal HD Spikers in the beginning of 2024.

Right after his stint in the Incheon Korean Air Jumbos in the Korea V.League, the volleyball champ is now playing as the main gunner in the new Rebisco team, the Criss Cross King Crunchers.

Despite being in a different team, Marck remains strongly connected with his former teammates.

In an Instagram story by user zoeoe (@hzasy_06), during their intense five-setter showdown, Marck accidentally went under the net and crossed to the side of the Cignal HD Spikers. His former volleyball bros laughed it off and hugged him.

Marck embodies positivity during the crucial semifinal match. While they were down at the first two sets, the Criss Cross King Crunchers managed to reverse sweep the Cignal, leading them to book the last slot for the Finals.

Their happy vibes inside the court is the real game-changer, Marck said to One Sports.

“‘Di ko rin alam parang pumasok na lang talaga sa isip ko na kailangan kong i-celebrate na lahat ng points. Kapag may nag-celebrate na isa, lahat susunod na, eh,” said Marck.

The Criss Cross King Crunchers and the Cignal HD Spikers are set to return in the volleyball action for the grand championship at 6:00 p.m. at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum.
